Amsterdam, 1927

The EYE Film Institute Netherlands, and the associated cinematography museum formerly called the Filmmuseum, have posted a few short videos of Amsterdam from almost a century ago. What a wonderful thing to share.

This is one of the video clips of Amsterdam from 1927. This is some of the earliest footage of Amsterdam. I think my paternal grandmother’s side of the family (Worp) may have shoot footage around the same time, or a few years later, of “Amsterdam Zuid” being built.

Many of the buildings in the video are still recognizable today.
